Position :
Located in South Italy, the Basilicata region (formerly Lucania) is surrounded by Campania at west, Puglia on north and east, and Calabria at south ; it also opens onto Tyrrhenian sea and Ionian sea.

- the archeological parks : Grumentum, Metaponto and Venosa...
- picturesques villages as Acerenza, Castelmezzano, Lauria, Rivello and many more.
- the "Parco della Grancia", the first and unique historic, rural and environmental park in Italy with its night perfomance.
- Pollino park and volcanic mount Vulture
- the beautiful beaches in Maratea (tyrrhenian coast), Metaponto or Policoro (Ionian coast)...
- enjoy a breath of great emotion with the "angel flight" on Lucan Dolomites.
- Aliano and litterature park dedicated to Carlo Levi.

¤ Holy Friday, Passion representation in Barile : procession representig different scenes from Passion of Christ.
May
¤ between Ascension and Pentecost, the "Trees wedding" in Accettura : country feast during which an oak (representing the male) and a holly (representing the female) are grafted and "joined in marriage" with a religious ceremony.
July
¤ 2, the "Madonna della Bruna" feast in Matera, in honour of black madonna, patroness of the city. Entertainements begin at dawn and end with an assault to the greatest float, which will be built again for the following year.
